Downloading or deleting your data

Your data belongs to you. From your dashboard you can download a copy of what Cheaplyfly holds about you, or delete your account entirely. Both are self-service and take a minute.

Downloading your data

1. Sign in and open My account.
2. Open the Privacy tab.
3. Under Download your data, press Download my data.
4. Your browser saves a file to your device.

What the file contains

• Profile: your name, email address, when you joined, home airport and currency.
• Price alerts: route, dates, currency, target, status and when each was created.
• Saved items: the searches and flights you saved.
• Searches: your search history.
• Deals opened: flights you opened with partners, with the price shown at the time.

The file is in JSON, a plain-text format that many apps and text editors can open. It is meant to be readable by both people and software.

Deleting your account

Deleting your account is permanent and can’t be undone. Before you start, download your data if you want a copy.

1. Open the Privacy tab in your dashboard.
2. Under Delete account, type DELETE in the confirmation box.
3. Enter your password.
4. Press Delete my account.

You are signed out and returned to the home page.

What is removed

• Your account and profile, including your photo.
• All your price alerts, including any created as a guest with the same email.
• Saved items, search history and notifications.

Records of deals you opened are kept only without any link to you, so they no longer identify you.

What deletion doesn’t cover

• Bookings with partners. Those are held by the airline or travel site. Contact them about their data.
• Newsletter subscriptions. Use the unsubscribe link in your newsletter emails, or contact us.
• Messages you sent us through the contact form. Email support@cheaplyfly.com if you want those removed.

If this, then that

• If you see “Type DELETE and your password to confirm”, check that DELETE is in capitals and your password is correct.
• If deletion isn’t offered, the site may handle it on request. Email support@cheaplyfly.com.
• If you only want fewer emails, you don’t need to delete your account. Turn off price-drop emails in Profile or pause your alerts.
