How it works

How Cheaplyfly works

We help you find and compare flights. You book with the airline or travel site you choose. Here is exactly what happens, and who does what.

  1. You search

Enter where and when. We show recently found prices from our partners, a price calendar and filters for stops, times and bags.

  2. You compare

Sort by best, cheapest or fastest. Each result shows the airline, times, stops and how long the trip takes.

  3. You book with the partner

Press "View deal" and we take you to the partner, who shows the live price and handles payment, tickets and support.

  4. We may earn a commission

If you book, the partner may pay Cheaplyfly a commission. It is part of the partner's own price and never added to yours.

Prices

Where our prices come from

You will see two kinds of price. Knowing the difference saves surprises.

Recently found price

The lowest fares our partners found in recent searches by travelers. Great for spotting cheap dates and months, and shown on calendars, deals and route pages. Seats sell and fares move, so treat them as a guide.

Live price at the partner

When you press "View deal", the partner checks seats and fares right now for your exact dates. This is the price you pay, including any baggage or payment options you choose there.

What we do

  • Search and compare flights from partners
  • Show prices on a calendar and in your currency
  • Send price alerts
  • Save your searches and trips
  • Publish independent travel guides

What we don't do

  • Sell tickets or take payment for flights
  • Add booking fees to the partner's price
  • Handle changes, refunds or check-in (the partner does)
  • Sell your personal data

Booking checklist

Before you pay on the partner's site

A one-minute check that avoids most booking problems.

Glossary

Words you will see

Direct
One flight from takeoff to landing. Some direct flights stop on the way without changing planes; a non-stop never lands in between.
Layover
Time between two flights on the same trip. Short layovers save time but leave less room for delays.
Self-transfer
Separate tickets joined together. If the first flight is late, the second airline does not have to help, so leave plenty of time.
Basic economy
The lowest fare type. It often excludes seat choice, changes and a full-size carry-on.
Carry-on
The bag you take into the cabin. Size and weight limits differ by airline.
Return
A round trip on one booking: there and back. One way is a single journey.
Multi-city
A trip with more than one stop that is not a simple return, such as London to Rome, then Paris to London.
Fare rules
The conditions of your ticket: changes, refunds, bags and fees. Read them before you pay.
